Substance Abuse Group Counseling (ASAM Level 1):

 

The Educational Center follows all state-required rules for ASAM group therapy so you can be sure your classes will satisfy your legal requirement. You must attend a class once per week during your ASAM program Sessions are $40 per session. All program services are strictly confidential. Treatment providers must be DBHDD (Dept. of Behavioral Health) certified to perform ASAM written progress reports and must be used to document your development within the program.

 

 

Individual Substance Abuse Counseling:

 

Although research suggests that group substance abuse counseling has proven to be the most effective form of treatment for individuals who suffer from chemical dependency or substance addiction, there are unique advantages to engaging in individual substance abuse counseling that may benefit clients who struggle with working in group sessions and or would like to supplement group work as a part of long term treatment. Individual substance abuse counseling also means that your counselor has more

time to work with you one-on-one to address more pronounced issues that may contribute to addictive behaviors. Given the clients’ individual treatment one-on-one counseling can allow clients to arrange individual substance abuse recovery sessions around work and family schedules that may not be as convenient as having to attend pre-scheduled group sessions as mandated by state guidelines. The Educational Center makes an effort to address effectively the clients’ individual needs throughout the counseling process while also focusing on the commonality of many issues in addiction and recovery.

 

 

Substance Abuse Counseling and Evaluation:

 

If you are registering for a Substance Abuse Evaluation, our counselors have in place a 24 hour cancelation policy. If you need to change your appointment or cancel it completely, please be sure you do so more than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time. Students canceling or changing their appointment with less than 24 hours will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

 

 

Anger Management Evaluation:

 

The purpose of the anger management assessment is to determine whether you could benefit from outpatient individual therapy or group anger management classes to treat an anger management issue. Clients are not referred to treatment if it is not warranted by their assessment.
